Due to the rigorous nature of the patent qualification process, less than 100 UK attorneys qualify each year in the UK.  Already a niche market, the situation has become exacerbated once the qualified attorneys are split according to their specialist technical disciplines; Trade Mark, Patent and IP Licensing being some of them.  Suffice to say, recruiting quality candidates in what is regarded as “a sellers market” is a difficult and often lengthy process.  The recruitment market for attorneys is approximately 25% understaffed and is estimated to be some 370 attorneys short of requirements.

Adamson & Partners are regularly contacted by multinationals and private practice firms that experience difficulties in recruiting potential staff for their IP departments that match their specific criteria/requirements and benefit from a professional targeted candidate approach and a vigorous search and selection process.

One Private Practice firm contacted Adamson & Partners after a failed recruitment drive had resulted in wasting a great deal of the Partners’ valuable time.  We met with the firm personally and became acquainted with their recruitment needs and the culture of their organisation.  This was followed by a targeted selection of appropriate candidates by our ‘in-house’ research team who were then screened and interviewed by the lead consultant. Due to our knowledge and expertise gained over seventeen years we were able to produce a strong and highly relevant shortlist of genuinely interested candidates.  We worked on the Assignment from start to finish, keeping our client regularly informed of our progress and removing the ‘pain’ of recruitment, in order for them to focus completely on their own work.  The assignment was completed within the agreed time frame and we have been retained by them ever since.
