The Intellectual Property (IP) function is split between France and the USA, and employs a complement of 21 personnel. Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, the appointee will have full responsibility for all IP matters across the company.
The Corporate Intellectual Property Director will manage, lead and mentor the global IP Team to maximise the company’s IP assets (Patents and Trade Marks); advise the Management Committee on all strategic issues; represent the company at professional events; ensure freedom-to-operate for the company’s products; deal with risk management and manage litigation proceedings; provide IP input in M&A activities; and keep abreast of all developments in IP Law.
This is a high-profile position for the appointee who will ideally have a background in industry and possess a strong record of success in managing a team. As the working languages of the company are English and French, oral and written fluency in both languages are preferred. An excellent knowledge of the Diagnostics or Pharmaceutical/Healthcare marketplace is essential. Candidates should be qualified European Patent Attorneys or US Patent Attorneys with proven experience of working in Europe.
