The Role
Based in Italy, the appointee will be responsible for directing, managing and supervising the IPR team in Italy.   The successful candidate will advise the executive management on issues of patent strategy and litigation, as well as licensing and patent transfer matters.  In addition, the person appointed will also manage docket and workflow for all patent procedures generated from the R&D operations in Italy.  Working cohesively with the other international patent teams in Europe and Japan, the appointee must ensure full collaboration between the various departments and be able to communicate across the different divisions. 

Candidate Requirements

The candidate must be a fully qualified Patent Attorney admitted to practice before the EPO or the USPTO or a comparable jurisdiction, who possesses an excellent educational background to degree level or beyond in either Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline.  The successful candidate should possess at least ten years IP experience, ideally gained within an in-house IP department but relevant experience in private practice would also be considered. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated displaying well proven leadership qualities, supported by excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, integrity, combined with the ability to motivate others.  Proficiency in Italian would be considered particularly advantageous, but is not essential.
