New products are P&G’s most important assets and the Company spends over US $2.1bn on Research and Development. Due to its continuing growth and expansion, plus an overriding commitment to R&D, the company now requires a high calibre Patent Attorney to join its Oral Care business in Germany.
The Patent Department has high visibility in the company and operates a pro-active patenting policy, encouraging close contact with scientists, commercial colleagues and senior management. The appointee will enjoy considerable responsibility and autonomy and will be required to offer advice on the full range of IP issues including patent strategy, drafting applications, freedom to market opinions, prosecution and oppositions at the EPO, contracts, IP agreements and co-ordinating external attorneys.
Candidates will possess an excellent first degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical/Electronics or Material Sciences, be a qualified EPA and/or possess a national qualification, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have good professional experience in either private practice or industry.
