Our client is a global leader within its field of expertise, with its products and technologies being enjoyed by customers in more than 125 countries worldwide. With headquarters in Germany, the organisation has subsidiaries in more than 75 countries and employs more than 50000 people globally.
A need has arisen to recruit the principal position in the IP function for this multi-billion Euro Company, in which the appointee will determine the vision and strategy for intellectual property.
THE POSITION:
Reporting to the Chief Legal Counsel, the appointee will have worldwide responsibility for all IP-related matters and functions throughout the organisation. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a team of over 100 employees located internationally, with strategic and operational responsibility for overseeing individual and collective performance; and for training and developing the team in an ever-evolving business environment;
- Developing and executing a strategy which provides the IPR support for the short and long term needs of the business;
- Working with senior management and gaining their input for the strategic and financial planning of the department;
- Fostering the image of IP within the organisation.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Educated to degree level or preferably beyond in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field. High calibre candidates possessing an educational background in a non-related chemical degree will also be considered;
- An exceptional track record of general management, preferably on an international or multi-site basis;
- Qualified as a European Patent Attorney with at least 15 years of experience in all aspects of IP law;
- Fluency in German and English.
